Logging in with Google Single Sign-On (SSO):

IMPORTANT:
Admins must mark Storyboard That as a trusted app in Google by October 23, 2023, or students, teachers, and administrators may lose access to Storyboard That. Confirm your third-party app settings in the Google Admin Console to prevent issues with teachers and students accessing Storyboard That.

If you are a teacher or student receiving the error "Access blocked: Your institution’s admin needs to review," please contact your school or district's tech support contact for help and provide them with this Help Center article.

Storyboard That allows students and teachers to log in using Google Single Sign On (SSO) with their district-assigned Google email address and password.

To protect student data privacy, on October 23, 2023, Google will restrict access to third-party applications for students under the age of 18 unless the admin confirms access in the Google Admin Console. 

Admins must mark Storyboard That as a trusted app in Google by October 23, 2023, or students, teachers, and administrators may lose access to Storyboard That. 

Google will automatically designate users to under 18. Please ensure that Admins and Teachers are designated as over 18. This article provides instructions for updating your settings in Google for Storyboard That.

For Admins: How to allow SSO with Google

Confirm Storyboard That as a trusted third-party configured app:

  1. To get started, Google Admins should go to the intro page of the guided experience
  2. Click Continue to view the first step, Confirm settings for unconfigured third-party apps.
  3. If you choose Don’t allow users to access any third-party apps (Default setting), please review the apps and their settings in the Access (for top-level org unit) column.
  4. Click Add app -> OAuth App Name or Client ID, then search for Storyboard That
  5. Confirm Storyboard That is set to Trust. Review the confirmation information, then click Confirm.

For Teachers

If your student encounters the error "Access blocked: Your institution’s admin needs to review Storyboard That"please contact your school or district's tech support and direct them to this help article.
